Stephen Ministry

Stephen Ministry
Stephen Ministry equips lay people to provide confidential, one-to-one Christian care to individuals in our congregation and community who are experiencing difficulties in their lives.
Stephen Ministers care for people who are experiencing...
Loss of a loved one
Spiritual Crisis
Illness
Hospitalization
Imprisonment
Disability
Discouragement
Divorce or Separation
Job Loss
Loneliness
...and many other challenges. God did not intend for us to go through these experiences alone, and a Stephen Minister can be a caring, supportive help to remind you of Christ’s presence in your life.
Stephen Ministers receive over 50 hours of training in providing emotional and spiritual care. They become a caring, Christian friend who listens, prays, supports, and encourages people in need. Stephen ministry is a confidential ministry, and the identity of those receiving care and what takes place in each caring relationship remain private.
If you or someone you know is in need of a Stephen Minister, please contact Lyn Couey (lyn@placeofhope.org) or Pastor Frank (frank@placeofhope.org).
